Flying up side up

Flying up side up
All wobbly like
An old biplane crashes
Like a chick takes flight
Not at all like the phoenix.

The view from here...

After over a week of shuttling boxes in our cars, and having MPK come for a day and help move furntiure, a trip to the ER to repair a buggered up finger, having Sandy's family help shuttle things, unpacking and putting away, we are pretty much done with moving...WOOT!

It feels so good to stretch out in this place.  It seems so much bigger than our old place, probably because it is, and not a bad view either.  We will be able to watch the Seattle firework show from our living room and balcony.

And for the morbidly curious, here is a shot of my finger after smashing it with a floor jack.  Eight stitches later, my flapper was repaired and was home eating tylenol...
Maybe I should glue some googly-eyes to the top of my finger for fun, it does kind of look like a smile...

1,456 miles...

brutal!  At least when they are driven in a rental truck and finished by unloading two trucks worth of household goods.  But, the good news is, Mom and Fred are now in their new place and happy to be out of Arizona.  Hat's off to Steve, who with literally with only an hours notice spent the remainder of his vacation driving the second truck from Arizona.  On top of having just driven non-top from NM.  To boot, he spent his 50th birthday on the road, his only celebration raised glasses over dinner in a dive casino in the middle of BFE!

Today there is lots of laughter and happiness, and a positive outlook on the future, hard to beat in my book :)

04.11.2011 Wm and I

Untitled - Cooperative Poetry
A court jester
Cajoling the cheerful tunes
of long lost bloom and leaf
His instrument of strings
and laughter
Ringing through the ever noise-battered court
The noise gives way to melody

love you Wm

unwinding...

thank you Merritt for freeing up my drop spindle by building me a niddy noddy...it's not a lot of yarn, but a few more spindles full and I will have most of a nice hat for Linda :)

Lens check...

We act and react based on the decisions we have made about ourselves and others.  It's the lens with which we view the world.   What do I believe about myself, and what do I do to support that belief? What do I do that is counter to that belief or make it so that others do not believe what I do about myself?  Days like these make me ask this about myself.  They harden my resolve to do the right thing; to live right and to fight for who and what I love.  We come into this world for one reason and one reason only, to bring the darkness into light, so lift it up.
